Northern Hearts Mission

Northern Hearts is a registered charitable organization located in Thunder Bay.

Our Mission is to decrease the incidence of heart disease through education and research.

Our Goals:

To decrease the incidence of cardiac disease
To prevent development of acquired risk factor
To do pre-primary (primordial), primary and secondary prevention
To equip people with heart disease with knowledge and practical tools, to slow down progression of disease, and to have a better lifestyle
To create a community environment for people with cardiac disease to share and support each other
To promote cardiac research

Our Strategies:

To establish a sustainable model that is broad community-based
To establish a Cardiac Education Division
To establish a Cardiac Research Division
To establish a respective Steering Committee for each
To establish guidelines for Education and Research built on the platform of fundraising.

All our studies are based specifically on local health issues.

All monies raised in Northwestern Ontario... stay in Northwestern Ontario.
